A Gathering of Wires

The set of images was made from one object, or rather, the photos of one object. For the assignment, we were given a random object drawn from a paper bag, and asked to create some striking form by doing whatever we wanted to it. I got a bundle of telephone line, and I un raveled it, cut it up, burned it a little with a match and took photos throughout the process.
The contrast and threshold of all the photos were bumped up to make the forms more striking, and I weeded out some of the best. Some were made by repeating the form of the wire and connector heads to make a sort of pattern. All of them were printed up as tabloid sized posters in the end.
The wire-type posters were all based off of these to begin with.
